Sus Chords.



What are sus chords and how are the used?
"sus" means suspended and a sus chord does sounds like it is suspended like .....?

1. Sus 2 chords.
These are chords that eliminate the 3rd of a chord and use the second note of the chord's scale.
Example: D sus2 has the notes D, A, D, E
The note "E" is the 2nd note in a D major scale.
The "E" note is the sus (suspended) note

2. Sus 4 chords.
Replace the third (F sharp)of the D chord with the 4th note, a G note.
Remember the numbers in the chord diagram refer to the fingers used.
Try this rhythm using
D major, Dsus2, Dsus4, D major, D major, Dsus4, D major, Dsus2, D major.
